If you select Extra recommended components then you'll receive,

• 2 extra bearings
• 1 extra potentiometer
• 1 extra switch
• 2 extra JST 1.25mm male and female connectors
• 2 extra rivets 
• 1 extra M1x10 screw 

The extra components are recommended, since you might lose one, mess up a soldering job, cut the rivets a bit too smal etc etc.  It is a bit more expensive, but ordering extra material at a later date is even more expensive with shipping :(
