Shipping Timeline
The original plan was to ship everything in mid to late January. However, due to some delays, the new expected timeline is March. Here’s the breakdown:
1. Boxes (Current Bottleneck)
- The sample box is on its way.
- Assuming the sample is good to go, they’ll move straight into manufacturing and ship the bulk order.
- The delivery of these boxes is the main factor affecting the shipping timeline.
2. Golden Snitch Design
- The wings survived the 10 hours stress test!
- The design is 100% complete!, with all components and materials finalized.
I have also been working on an extensive assembly instruction, with technical drawings, exploded views and a bill of materials. That is is almost done :)
3.Kits!
I have calculated the final material costs as well, and I have been able to make kits available for a good price.
Kit 1: Standalone Golden Snitch kit: this is for people who already have the STL files with assembly instructions and would like to make another one.
Kit 2: Golden Snitch kit + STL Files: this kit has everything from kit 1 plus the STL files, assembly instructions and a bill of materials.
Kit 3: Golden Snitch kit + 3D prints: this kit is for the people without a 3D printer. it includes everything from kit 1 plus the printed parts and the assembly instructions. The shipping costs will me more expensive since the 3D print does not fit through the letter box :(
Or you order the STL files are order the parts from a certain chinese retailer, track dozens of packages and hope that you have ordered the correct parts.
I will be working on the pre-orders, making sure that they are finished before the boxes arrive. I will also make sure that any new orders will be ready to ship asap :)
Everything seems to fall into place, this is quite exciting!
